Organized by the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), the International Conference on Mining Science and Technology (ICMST) is one of high standard series of international conferences in mining science and technology in the world. The Conference is held every five years on average.
The first conference dates back to September 1985, followed by the other five events in the years 1991, 1996, 1999, 2004 and 2009 respectively. ICMST aims to provide a platform for experts and scholars in mining fields both at home and abroad to exchange ideas on the latest research achievements and development prospects in the field of mining.
The year 2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the ICMST. The Conference is organized by the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT). Co-organizers include University of Kentucky and West Virginia University in the US, the University of Nottingham in the UK, the University of Queensland, Western Australia University and University of Wollongong in Australia, TFH Georg Agricola, University of Applied Sciences in Germany. The Conference is scheduled for April 26-29 in Xuzhou. The theme of the conference is "Ecology, Safety and Sustainable Development of Modern Mines". The Conference contains 6 sessions as follows: green mining and ecological mines (containing energy strategies), mine safety and occupational health, geo-mechanics and geo-environmental engineering, clean coal technology and low-carbon utilization, intelligent mining equipment and technology, exploitation of mineral resources and new energy.
